Countdown To 2007

As unmarked days get fewer on my countdown to 2007, I finally succeeded in getting myself to have a review of the passing year and plan for the next.
It actually used to be one of the things I look forward to. I enjoy analyzing and planning, but doing it this year is more out of necessity than of the pleasure it used to be
Why? Well, it’s anybody’s guess.

At a second look at the year, I felt I was just allowing my mental picture of what the year should have been, blur all the other good things that have come my way, so I started out with two things.

I thought of all the lessons I have learnt in the seemingly difficult times of this year, painful as they could be, I wonder what kind of woman I was or would have become without these life building lessons, . Acknowledging them and running with them proves an extent of unquantifiable growth!
Somehow, I think someday am going to say it was worth it - of course well cushioned with faith in the beckoning of the future.

I also decided to celebrate people that have made tremendous contribution to my life this year in anyway; I didn’t have to think too much to know who my person of the year is; not so much for money or material gain (not that they aren’t important) but for resources of love shared, time shared, knowledge shared, ……, and in all for friendship and companionship.

The passing year might not have added so much material things (what we often use as a yardstick for success) but it sure has concretized my foundation to build on in years to come

Some of us want to know "your person of the year"? (if u don't mind).
I know i should do an internal audit of the year but i keep postponing it. Your article is a reminder to me and everyone elso who comes across it to do the same. It's worth it. You can measure those intangibles too..they give rise to the tangibles.

For me the year has been amazing! I was able to achieve most of my set-goals and the few I did not get thru with should be realised within first two months of 2007.

On the down side, I was able to streamline by friends and even realised my best friend of three years was more interested on the one-sided benefits she have from me - this reality completely dawned on me just this month and meant the first two weeks was a sad one for me as I started doing loads of reflection as to why I didnt observe it all along. My conclusion was love does not keep record of wrong doing

Wish a blessed a fulfilled 2007.
